Safer online shopping

Online shopping is handy but can be risky!

Buying from a fake website could mean you never receive your goods.

Follow these tips for a safer online shopping experience.

Tip 1:

Check that a physical address is displayed and confirm the website shows clear terms and conditions.

Tip 2:

Check the images matches the product description, you never know what you might end up receiving.

Tip 3:

Beware of unrealistically low prices and do some research before buying from new places. If in doubt, get a second pair of eyes to check for you. And remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Tip 4:

Entering your credit card details into a site when using public Wi-Fi can be risky. Save your payment until you’re at home using a more secure WiFi connection or use your mobile data. Wherever available, use more trusted payment services like PayPal and never save card details online.

Tip 5:

Check the website URL starts with ‘https://‘ and not this ‘http://‘. The ‘s’ stands for secure.
