Mindshift wins Start-up Innovation – Customer Value award

Mindshift was honoured to receive the 2021 – Start-up Innovation – Customer Value award at the 2021 Resellers News Innovation Awards (held in May 2022).

Owner Melonie Cole says “I’m so proud of our amazing team and the work we do every day to help people and businesses keep information secure.

This award means a huge amount to me - my heartfelt thanks to every person and business who has chosen to work with Mindshift - we are who we are because of you.”

Mindshift has had three successful years since its launch in 2018. Leading by reputation built by steadily delivering high quality, unique services, it now proudly boasts numerous high-profile customers, some of New Zealand’s biggest brands.

We’re currently positioned as the leader in cyber security awareness services in NZ. We sell services which are absolutely tailored to the immediate needs of the customer, which are always unique to each business.

We help organisations identify their big human risk areas, when it comes to security, and we design and implement security awareness programmes and campaigns, designed to positively change human behaviours when it comes to handling information and working with systems.

The end-goal is to reduce the chance of a cyber-attack or data breach happening. We see ourselves as an extension of our customer’s security teams. Most of them don’t have dedicated in-house awareness specialists, so we fill that role for them and work alongside them day-to-day on awareness activities, big and small. We work together to identify risk areas, and decide the most effective way to communicate how to keep information secure, this could be through e-learning modules, short animations reflecting their ways of working, people, culture and industry sector, print materials like posters and post-cards, webinars, workshops, articles, infographics and other creative styles of communication.

From very small beginnings, over just three years, we’ve been able to help businesses educate their staff about cyber security, helping them with guidance to keep customer and business information secure.

Our end-game is to help organisations reduce the chance of a cyber-attack or data breach through helping staff make good decisions when working online and with information generally.

There is a real need for what we do, as all of our business has been through word-of-mouth, we know we’re good at what we do and don’t need to sing it from the rafters!

We love it that businesses choose to work with us, not because we’ve had to sell to them. Because they see the need, we have their buy-in, and our work always begins with great partnerships. This has shown to us you don’t need great sales and marketing, and a fancy expensive office in a big city to do great work that makes a huge difference to the cyber safety of thousands of New Zealanders.

As NZ’s premier ‘people first’ cyber security company we have led the way in transitioning companies to think about security training and education beyond the use of software that just does simulated phishing campaigns. By developing bespoke educational e-learning, videos, and content with our customers, we are enabling them to plan, create and deliver ongoing guidance about security which will stand the test of time.
